Katie was so excited to have made a new friend that she completely forgot her fear of high places. Without hesitating, she quickly climbed on top of the pony and held on to his mane, as they made their way down the long bumpy road. "OH, I'M GOING TO FALL!" she yelled. "I never rode a pony before, and I don't know what to do."

"Don't look down!" warned Emerald. "Just look straight ahead and hold on tight."

"Where are we going, Emerald?"

"It's a wonderful place, and I know you will be very happy there," he answered.

Mother reached up to give Katie a big hug. "Emerald, why don't you take Katie over to the pond to hear the singing flowers?"

"That sounds great!" yelled Katie. Now she felt so much a part of everything. "What makes them sing?" she asked.

"The winds make them sing. The stronger the wind, the louder they sing," answered Emerald. "I can feel the wind kicking up now."

All the children rushed off to hear the singing flowers, clapping their hands while dancing to the cheerful songs.
